Jahshaka Project Relaunched

Just a update to say that we have been working on getting everything in place that we need to re-launch the project successfully and its taken a bit longer than expected (but not that much longer) as it is a pretty large undertaking. Some of you may have understood that as re-releasing the software but that is not the case, we are re-launching the project itself and as such need to ensure is longevity.

We have had a ton of requests from people who want to help out but unfortunately haven’t received any from coders so  had to get sponsors on board to help with our development costs in order to keep Jahshaka 3.0 free. We now have everything in place that we needed to re-launch the project and as of today are working full-on on the 3.0 release and have a quarterly release schedule that we plan to stick to.

If you are serious and want to be involved then we would love to have you join the team where there are spots for everything from product architecture to testing, documentation and release packaging, but we plan to take our time and stick to our new development plan and strategy. We will  be launching a project management section on this site shortly to manage the development and release process, and you can follow this to see how things are going.

Good software isn’t written in a day, and we have a lot of work to do. If you have followed and read the development documents that have been posted you will have a good idea of what we are doing already. We will keep you updated on a  weekly basis and hope to have a 3.0 beta ready shortly.

Thank you,

The Jahshaka Team

Hey guys! glad you finally released some news!
I can’t code, but i will do whatever i can to help (right now the most i can do is testing or product architecture as mentioned above).
I currently have an intel mac running lion (mac os 10.7). and a Power PC G5 running leopard (mac os 10.5).
if there is a current build for testing please contact me at the email i have submitted, and refer me to a link where i can find out more about testing. i fully believe that this application could defeat the fact that you have to pay so much to be a filmmaker, and with that once i get a stable release of Jahshaka, i plan on switching to it as my primary film editor. (as such also donating to keep releases and updates coming).
though i would like to know more about the export settings you’re planning on releasing.

Have you found sufficient coders now? Or are you still looking?

    Hi,

I’m very interested in trying Jahshaka!!

In case you were not aware; ATM, the “download” link results in the following error (using Chrome):

The webpage at http://www.jahshaka.com/download////////////////////// has resulted in too many redirects.

Hello, I would like to start off by saying that I love what you guys have done! I’m 16 and about 800 bucks shy of buying After Effects so this is awesome to use! I was wondering something though, not sure where else to ask it so I’ll ask here. I have Action Essentials 2K and the pre-keyed video files are .mov and I guess pretty much only play in Quicktime but when ever try to import one of the files Jahshaka crashes. I was wondering what the problem might be? Like is it the file format, is it the out of date Jahshaka, and if so then will that be fixed with 3.0? Thank you for everything you’ve done and are doing!

    Sincerely, John Meyer

No other software for video editing gets me more excited. Been waiting an age so hopefully this time …. Wish I had the capacity to do more than worship.

Must be fate as I haven’t visited this project for over a year and only looked today!. Going to dust off V2 and play in spite of the bugs.
