Core Jahshaka development

We found another powerpoint breaking down the development plans to move from jahplayer into jahshaka 3.0 with a intermediary release as a DI solution along the way. We have cleaned it up a bit to meet our anticipated timelines and have re-posted it here.

jahshaka development roadmap

This development strategy allows us to rapidly build on top of the current jahplayer release and jahshaka core framework to rapidly deliver jahshaka 3.0. Your thoughts, ideas and feedback would be much appreciated!

    Good luck, can’t wait!

    Hi,

Just a quick question – wouldn’t the paint and roto be better served as sub-module of the compositing module, as it will almost always be used in conjunction with that?

    Regards

    Hassan

Its really a workflow question I think, and we will take this into consideration… initially it will be much easier to create it as a separate module that you can pipe layers into but there is not reason not to directly integrate it in the long run…

I agree with Hassan. I am absolutely grateful of all of the work being put into this, but I think that in a future update that should be changed.
So is the 16 day wait actually accurate? Or will it be longer than that?
    All the best,
    Sam

The countdown is to the relaunch of the project. We are taking this very seriously, after effects cost hundreds of millions to get to where it is so dont expect us to do the same in 2 months!.

With jahshaka 3.0 we are inheriting a very mature code base but have lots of work to do and want to do it professionally and are focused on the project plan, deliverables, milestones and getting sponsors and funding to meet our goals

We will relaunch starting with jahshaka as a Di platform and build on it from there with the communitys help and support.

Thank you for the quick response. I am a huge admirer of the whole open source idea and Jahshaka’s plans especially.
One more question: I have never used Jahshaka 2.0, as I am an editor myself who is looking for an alternative to After Effects. However, will it be possible to do actual editing with Jah 3.0? Or will it be just like 2.0 in that it is exclusively for effects?
        Thanks.

And sorry for yet another post, but I just saw the color corrector module on your blog, and…

It was, honest to god, one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen.

Mark my words, if you keep working hard, generating sponsors, and collaborating with other open source editors like Lightworks,

Then you will have potential to be a Revolutionary product.

    Aren’t Jahshaka 3.0 should’ve already been launched?
